have but a limited sum this year & it is being fast pledged & now that these low averages preclude the possibility of our getting Bureau money, I scarcely know how we could send any new teachers any where, even to the Indian Settlement for a month at least.

Mrs. Usher, who was going to Lawrenceville, has been directed to go to Marion, in accordance with your note this morning. 

I am sorry to trouble you with our special perplexities, when you have so many more of your own, but I thought you ought to know my orders to Davis about Tunstall's. If the teacher had only written to me about his small school, I would have taken some steps to improve it, or remove him, before.
