Boydton Va. November 18th 1869
Mr. Manly
Sir
I have not received any tuition from you for September and October. I have been waiting and expecting that you would send it; but have never received it as yet: Please send it to me as quick as possible, as I need it very much if you can, I wish that you would take my school in hand altogether another year: for The Freedmen are not able to pay anything now. $10.00 dollars is all that I have received from them since I have been teaching. I can not afford to teach at that rate. I presume that they would pay if they had any thing to pay: but they have nothing
