Snickersville. Va. Nov 27- 1869

Dear Sir.

I received your letter, and last night we held a meeting, a final one, in reference to the character of the house we want to build. We settled upon the following points. 
1- The house is to be for educational purposes.
2- We want it 25 by 30 feet, as there will be a large attendance at school, and their being no church for the colored people in this neighborhood unless they submit as heretofore to gallery comfort. we want the building of size suitable for a house of worship when not being used by the school.
3- The house lot is given by a colored man, and will be deeded at first meeting of Court to a board of five trustees (colored) elected last night, who will hold it, with the building on it, for educational purposes.
4-The names of the trustees are Alfred Fox, James Fields, J Presley Roberts, John Lewis & Henry Jackson.  The three first are men of some property.
5-We find that the house will cost at least $600, it being the only one for miles and miles in any direction, it must necessarily be large
6-We can raise $200. I giving them $100 of this amount a sum I received last Summer from a lady in the South to go toward formatting the
