Bristol Goodson, Va.
Dec 4th, 1869

R.M. Manley, Esq.
Supt. Ed. Va.
Sir: -
When you were here, I think you proposed to send me a few copies of Quackenbos' Eng. grammar for use in my school. I find that we can not obtain such grammars in this place and as I desire to form a class of about six in number, I have decided to request that you will if possible send 1/2 doz of these books and whatever the cost may be, I will see that the amt is paid.

My report for November was duly forwarded and schools matters progressing favorably. The people were well pleased with your remarks and suggestions.

I shall hope to receive those vouchers soon, which you mentioned when you were here.

Very Respectfully,
Thomas A. Cushman
