P. S. The good work so auspicously began in Westmoreland County was suddenly interrupted by a summons for Miss Howland, to her father's sick-bed last week. 

But we still hope to see a permanent school there - especially through the kind interest of Mr. Chapman - who has promised Miss Howland to see to a lot of ground being properly secured.  Mr. Chapman is a quiet Northerner, engaged in white oak timber cutting for ship building.
