R.M. Manly

Supt. Education, Richmond, Va.

Thy favor of recent date regarding teacher at Salem, Va. has been received. The Instr. Com. much regret to hear so poor an a/c of one of their teachers and of C.S. Schaffer suggestion request that some change may be made by which an assistants' place may be found for her and some more competent teacher sent to Salem in her stead. I think C.S. Schaffer thought that thou knew of some way in which this might be effected & shall feel much obliged if thou will advise in regard to this. I enclose list of teachers, so late that I fear it may be of little use, please excuse the remissions, I cannot keep up with my work.
Very respectfully

M.E. Shearman, Act.
