New York 7th Jany 1870 Dear Sir, I take the liberty to acquaint you that I have been directed by the Rev. Mr. Webb (American Board of Foreign Mission) to forthwith to communicate with you, and to forward application soliciting employment as a "School Teacher" I beg also to state that I had called on that gentleman to offer to him my services for the work of "School teaching - but it not being in his power at this time to confer an appointment he has therefore referred me to you.
