Sup't of Education, &c.

Dear Sir
The New York Branch F.U. Com has requested the N.E.B.F.U.Com to take some of its schools now held in buildings belonging to private persons, and for which the N.Y.B. &c. has hitherto drawn "Rental" from the Gov't. We decline, for reasons which seem to us sufficient, to draw "rental" for buildings which we neither own nor lease, and can take these schools only in case the Gov't will pay rent to the actual owners of the buildings, on whom we could then throw a large part of the cost of the schools, paying a small part only out of our treasury. Please inform me if this can be arranged.

Very respectfully yours
E.W. Hooper
Treas N.E.B.F.U.Com
