As soon as possible after receiving yours of the 28th ult I assembled the Freedmen who are interested in building the School House in this neighborhood & laid before them the questions submitted by you to which I return answers in their behalf

1st. Seventy five dollars will be needed to complete the house fit for a School - after they have used what they can raise.

2. They number 30 scholars who can & desire to attend the school & think that most if not all of them, can pay fifty cents per month for tuition. They earnestly desire a school as soon as possible,
