Rev R. M. Manly
Dear Sir,
I can go no further with the house till you send me more money. I have laid out what you gave me and what I had on hand of my own. It will take $150 to fulfill the contracts that I have made, and it must all be paid during the next 10 days. If you take the windows out of the hundred dollars I shall not have enough to pay me for what I have already laid out.
I paid 12 dollars for shingling the roof and it took 6,500 shingles at 3.50 per thousand. I was obliged to buy 3000 feet of plank to finish it at 15 dollars per thousand.
Don't fail to send the windows this week, for we wish to hold church in the new house next Monday 16th. Don't fail to send me 60 dollars immediately.
Truly yours
Alonso B. Corliss

Transcription Notes:
Sorry for the abundance of [[?]] in the middle, the roof portion gets dicey.
