Lovettsville, Va.;
March 31st 1870.

A. M. Manly, Esq.
Supt. Education L __, __

Dear Sir:
Your obliging letter of the 21st ult. came too late for me to propose the preffered aid from your Department to Miss King if she would consent to remain. A few days previously she closed her School and took her departure from Winchester, Va. when I believe She nows is acting under the Superintendency of O. M. Warring Esq. I think I understand from her which she has [[?]] that she has sent out by some lieutenant or jurisdiction operating under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church. I do not know whether she could be induced to return to this place as she found it impracticable to obtain a suitable boarding hours. If at any time you can procure a few teachers for this school, please let us hear of it.
Your Very Respectfully,
James Willard.
