December 9th 1869 you state that if I will draw up a contract & forward to you & sign the vouchers all of which I have done - "the money will be at once obtained and forwarded." and "you need not wait for it but go on with your building. I think at the farthest you will receive the check before the 1st of Jan." It is possible the check has been sent and I have not received it.
Miss Stebbins is now here and will open school as soon as we can get the building in readiness. She has been successful in securing some funds through northern friends towards the completion of the building, with the promise of more.
The carpenters are ready to begin work at once and we hope there will be no further delay in the matter I do not think there will be -
I should be glad of the funds at once
