Sup. Education re-
Richmond -

Dear Sir,
Ms. Lowell had just written to me of a misunderstanding about the New York teachers, whose pay you assumed to the extent of 10. per month. I did not at first understand that you intended to pay any but the Richmond teachers. I have paid them [[?]]. Miss M.E. Perkins + her successor Miss Nellie M. Chase, and Miss Annie B. Hancock, each 10. less than the amount finished me by Ms. Lowell, which 10. remains to the credit of the N. Y. Branch for fresh work. They endured kills for 10. less per month than their full salary. All the country teachers in VA have sent for their salary without mentioning any deduction on acc. of money [[?]] from you. As that confirmed my impression that you did not intend to include them, I have paid the full salary to each. Will you send me a list of the N.Y. Branch teachers who are receiving part of their salary from you,+ state from what month?
Yours very gleefully
E.U.Hoofer.
