Mr. Manly:

Dear Sir;
I would have sent you the report of my school, for the month of April,, But I am out of blanks. Genl. Howard was telling me last September that you would send me some money. So I am not certain whether you did or not; for I have never received any. I find the people very poor here, [[strikethrough]] very [[/strikethrough]]
