March 25th 1867.

Capt. Wm P Austin
Supt. 8th Dist. D of P.

Captain - I have the honor to make the following report of Schools in this Sub District, comprising the Counties of Montgomery, Pulaski and Giles, 8th Dist. Dept. of the Potomac, for the month of March 1867.

School No. 1 Christiansburg Mont'g Co. Va. numbers seventy six scholars, with a large number on the rolls, who cannot be accommodated with seats. The severe storms and freshets during the month, compelled the Teacher to suspend both sessions of the School, for at least nine days, which in some measure has retarded its progress and advancement, We now feel the importance and necessity of securing a Lot and erecting a suitable Building for the purpose, on the rock road of the Town -
