(Extract)
Captain
The school in Warrenton is in fine condition and the scholars are learning finely. Mr Morse the teacher has more than he can do and another teacher is needed to assist him. There are several small schools starting up in different parts of my District but the Freedmen are not able to pay their tuition so these schools are small. I wish there could be a teacher sent to Upperville in Fauquier Co as there is a fine chance to have a large school also a school is needed very much at Manassas Junction in Prince William County.
I am Capt very respectfully
