I have the honor to make the following report of school in my division comprising the counties of Washington Russell Buchanan Scott Lee and Wise for the month of June 1867 as follows
There are three day schools viz at the following places Abingdon Bristol and Saltville. The Abingdon School has 140 pupils the Bristol School 45 and the Saltville School 40. The Saltville School is supported by the Freedmen them selves the[[strikethrough]]y[[/strikethrough]] other two by the Freedmens Aid Society North. There are six Sunday Schools in this Division that are making good progress and number from 190 to 45 pupils each.
