7th Most of the freedmen would supply their own books and lights, and would probably repair the school house. They are the only local friends the school would have.
8th One church formerly used by the Christian commission, too large and should be remodeled. One or two other buildings used as barracks for troops.

10th The state of public sentiment is opposed (generally) to the education of the freedmen, and I do not think grows more favorable.
11th The school now in operation here is doing finely and I should recommend its continuance.
