Near News Ferry are several small buildings which can be had rent free which would cost say $100 t0 $150 to make them suitable for the desired purpose here.  The number of scholars would be from 50 to 100 but the people will do nothing in aid of the object Granville C. Medley esqr. resides in this locality and feels interested in this matter, and would if a school was established there give it his attention and supervision - no teacher from Abroad would be required here.

At Republican Grove there is no suitable building for the purpose but a gentleman Mr Parker proposes to furnish the site.  And the timber for the Hall of the building, and fuel provided he is employed and paid as the teacher he has been formerly engaged in teaching and is highly spoken of as being of good character and well qualified to teach.  P Bradshaw esqr Magistrate of the District takes a deep interest in the matter and would aid the cause in all ways except pecuniarily, which latter he states he is not able to do.
