A the people are very poor & do not like to promise any assistance for fear they Should fail to comply with their promise, they will do all in they are able.

A Samuel Brown & Major Brown Elders of Elam Church they are both intelligent Colored men,

A It is becoming more favorable,

A  I would Strongly urge the importance of establishing a School at this point; the people are Extremely anxious to procure a teacher. The Mr Brown mentioned in Answers to Questions No. 6 & 9 is now teaching a School in Elam Church but his education being limited he only teaches Spelling & reading at irregular intervals, he States that he will assist in instructing the School if a teacher is Sent to take charge of it
