A log building can be obtained at 22 feet by 18 private property Freedmen will pay rent

The Public's sentiment is unfavorable, One at about eight miles west of Floyd Court House, about thirty scholars can be obtained, the Freedmen will erect a log Building of suitable size
The place can be had rent free teachers can board half mile from school house at not more than eight dollars per month, freedmen are unable to do more than above stated, E A Hilton is favourably inclined towards schools for freedmen and the sentiment of the public in some localities quite favourable,
In the Sub Dist comprising the counties of Smith Bland and Tazewell, I would recommend the establishment of one school, - At Marion Va.
