The white people in this place would much prefer a teacher from their own locality, and think that one can be procured, but they will need some assistance from abroad to pay the salary, but if a teacher is to be procured from abroad, they would prefer an Episcopalian, and one could be boarded near by the Schoolhouse, at a cost of about $4 or $5 a mth, fuel and lights extra - 7. The local friends think they can raise from $150 to $200 a year towards defraying the expenses of books, renting or building a schoolhouse, and provide the Seats, Desks, &c, and will furnish the fuel and lights for day and evening school, and take care of school room &c - 8.
