a colored school reestablished at this place, but not until today have I been able to rent any building whatever for the purpose.  This very day have I succeeded in getting a suitable house for the purpose at Laurencevill, and now only teachers are wanted.  The building could be purchased reasonably if means could be furnished.
V There is a gentleman at Hicksford Va. who will put up a suitable building for teachers residence & school house and rent the same reasinably if teachers can be furnished & a school opened at that place.  It is desirable that teachers should be first engaged before he can proceed with building.
VI I have applied several times to the Freedmen's Aid Society at New York for teachers but as yet none have been sent here.
