Mr. K says "Whites say they are going it tear down are little school house." We expected an attack from them very soon.
6th  At the "Sassafras tree" in Gloucester Co in the house Mr James Lennon (cold) there was from March 1866 till the end of May '67 a small colored school taught by Mrs Lucy Burrill (cold). Attendance last year averaged 15. this year but 10. This school is soon closed but will reopen. Tuition fee is $1.00 pr month a large proportion of which has not been paid in

7th  Mrs Charlotte Riley a very lady like and intelligent colored woman conducts a school near "Puritan Bay" Gloucester Co. The building (18x20) can accommodate 50 pupils. present attendance is 30. from 6 to 16 years of age. tuition is $1.00 pr month. this school opened the first of last March. $22.00 has been paid in. Were there are no fees for tuition
