School No 2" Jones School in Suffolk
Teacher Miss A.S.Montier (coed) has 51 Scholars in day School and 48 in night School, the Building is Leased by the Bureau, condition of the School Good, pupils over 16" years of age 4" pupils in advanced reader 12" in Geography 12" in Arithmetic 12 in writing, pupils who spell & rad easy lessons 4" this School & the Smiley School located here unite & hold a Sabbath School, each Sunday in the Old Church, they 99 Scholars, with 5 Teachers
School No 3" Smiley School, in Suffolk, 
Teacher Miss Rachail Thompson (coed) has 34" Scholars, has no night School but assists Miss Montier with her night School, this Building is an old church filled up by the Bureau, but not Leased, condition of the School Good, pupils over 16" years of a 801" pupils spell and read easy lessons, 16" pupils in advanced readers 16" in Geography 16" in Arithmetic 16" in writing 16" higher branches 6"
Schools No 2 & 3, are Supported by the Society of Friends of New York and were established by Mr Jones, I visited a school at Little Neck 3" miles from Smithfield Isle of Wight and taught by a white man named "Haynes" who positively refused to allow me to take a report of his School, he said that he would not have anything to do with the "Bureau or the Government, that he was sent there by higher Authority, Said that the Lord has directed him to go among the people & Preach, he has about 50 Scholars, does not hold a Sabbath School, he belongs to a Sect Known as the Milerites" & in my opinion is an escaped lunatic" this embraces all the Schools in this Division, public, Private and Independent.
