Columbia in Fluvanna Co. are still in a flourishing condition.
I have made application for leave to rent a house at Columbia is Fluvanna County.
This is an important point for a school, Columbia being an important place, situated as it is at the junction of the Rivanna & James rivers and the canals running upon these streams, and is a place of considerable business importance. A large school is now established there and it is to be hoped that it will be sustained.
During the coming winter I do not expect these schools to be as well sustained as they have been through the warm season.
Still I am of the opinion, that, with a little encouragement, much good may be accomplished, even during the inclement season.
Much good has already been accomplished through the agency of these schools, and it is to be hoped this may be continued without interruption.

Very Respectfully &c
