The winter season is unfavorable for schools in this locality on account of the sparseness of population, & the long distances the pupils are obliged to travel to reach the schools.
I am in hopes of being able to continue two or three of them through the winter.
Mrs. Argyle has taken the school left by Miss Morris. She is an experienced teacher and will fully supply the place vacated by Miss Morris. I have therefore forwarded an application to leave to lease a room from Major R.G. Banks for the accommodation of this school at the same rate paid to Dr. Morris. The lease from Dr. Morris will be cancelled. He having moved to another part of the county. The schools taught by Miss Bolling and Mr. S. D. Anderson are both doing well.
Very Respectfully
