there are not as many pupils in this school as when I last reported due to the parents not being able to pay for their tuition. the Colored people in this sector (New Boston) are trying hard to build a School house so that the pupils can be better accommodated while in school. This school has twenty eight pupils with an average attendance of twenty.

Mr Martin the teacher has been teaching this School for the last six months with the promis [[promise]] from the Colord people that he should be paid enough to suport him but I am informed that he has not received enough to pay his board. I would respectfully recommend that some assistance be given him from the Bureau if consistent.

The School at Modeston is not doing much but I think that they will have a good School at that place when they get a sutible place to keep one in, the Colord people are trying and I think will succeed to purchase a peace of land to build upon. this place needs a good teacher to build up a School.
