HEADQUARTERS, 3d Division 11th Sub-District Virginia.
Boydton, Va. October 31st 1868.

Sir:
In accordance with Cir 17 Series 1867 Hd Qrs Asst Com Dist Va. I have the honor to make the following report on the Condition of the Piney, or Tunstalls School. Viz: I visited said school Oct 16th 1868. The scholars are doing very well, but not as well as those of the other three schools, owing perhaps to the fact, that the Freedmen who are patrons of the school, have failed to pay the teacher as they agreed to do.
Very Respectfully
Your Obdt Servant
