Halifax Court House Va.

Sir-

Circular No. 17, Head Quarters Assistant Com'r Dist. of Va. dated Richmond, Va. December 20, 1867. 
Came into my hands for the first time yesterday, and having already visited the Schools in this county, altho not expecting to have to make a report such as the circular requires, but to able to give an account of them if ever required.

I will submit my observations hoping in the future to be ale to give particulars.

The School at the Court House kept by the Waldron Sisters, is making good progress. The attendance is upwards of a hundred per day, who are orderly and attentive to their studies, the most of the children are from five to fourteen years of age, a few are older; few Schools can excel this one for order, and good conduct, and both of the Teachers are entitled to a great deal of credit.
