The following is the statement of a case between myself & Mr. Fitz. Supt of Trent River Encampment. The day after Christmas last, I entered into Mr. Fitz employment to do carpenter work on his headquarters at the wages of $18 per month with rations, or $25 per month without. I have worked regularly from that date to the 30th of January. I was paid up to New Years day, since which time I have received nothing except my rations.  At two times since New Years day being hard pressed for means of subsistence I requested a little of such money as might be due me. But I was refused. Day before yesterday, Jan 30th I told Mr. Fitz that having received an offer of employment at much higher wages & with promise of more regular pay, I should not continue longer in his employment.
