I think it will not be advisable to leave the farm for a longer term than one year.
I have the promise of about 20 V.R. officers. How many do you need.
 
I am glad to learn that the movement from R.I. has begun. I have sent to New Berne Gen Stevenson to procure hands for Ark. He offers liberal wages. If any whom we are finding refuse offers of this kind we must stop their rations.
