Respectfully returned. A sufficient sum of money should be paid the apprentice to enable him or her to live a time before getting work after freedom. From $25. to $75. for a girl, & from $50. to $150. for a boy has usually been promised in same district, the price varying with the age & capacity of the apprentice.
