To Whom It May Concern
Dear Sirs:

The bearer of this letter Yasuo Kuniyoshi, 118 Waverly Place, New York City, is personally known to me as an American artist of international repute, and a gentleman of excellent character. Although Mr. Kuniyoshi is not an American citizen, due to factors beyond his control, he is loyal to our country and respects the traditions of America. Mr. Kuniyoshi is touring the southwest this summer preparing drawings and paintings for public exhibition and for sale. It is not to be construed by this that Mr. Kuniyoshi's active work in the field as an artist should place him under suspicion. The productions he will do are to be used for aesthetic purposes only, and should be considered as such.

Sincerely yours,
Roland J. Mckinney
Director
