Dear Kuniyoshi,

I like the picture that you sent us and some of us knew that it was a copy of an oil painting. We went and saw two other oil painting and found out that the oil painting was thicker than other paints and I want to thank you once more for letting us have one of your painting about "I'm tired".

We are very sorry that you couldn't be a American citizen. Also we were surprised that you did not have any children.

Mr Kuniyoshi we like your letter and we love your good English and the universal words and I especially like the words that you used in the sentence about democracy.

Your Friend, Tom Tompkins
