I wonder why lots of Americans think Japanese are different. Even my old friends sometimes think that I speak Japanese to other Japanese and they think that I know what's happening in Japan more than they. I always have big arguments and I know no more than you do and only contact I have is through newspaper and that I know less than you do about what is happening because I don't see newspapers as much as you do.

I wonder if having different appearance make them think Japanese are Japanese no matter how long they are in this country or how well they are accustomed to American way of life. It is very curoius when we talk about European situation or life in this country they talk to you as an American. But minute talk touches Orient they think I know far more than they do. I wonder if because they are so ignorant about Oriental people or because my appearance make them think without further thought to bring subject that they were curoius about and try to find out about it.

Whatever it is I've come across it many times in such experiences, therefore I don't think one can blame majority of public for their ignorance and attitute toward Orientals.
