I'm glad I came here to Woodstock. I am really fond of the house and friends I have here are very nice and I hadn't expected such cordiality. I'm glad that people [[strikethrough]]have asked [[strikethrough]] never asked me anything about Myra because I think they know and never took seriously. Instead they ask me about Sara. I'm glad of that.
I came to have vacation. It was good to have one. I haven't had this kind of relaxing period of god knows how long. It did me good physically. Now I am able to face the hard winter.
Place didn't look bad when first came here but Eddie and I worked and made it look like more it it [[strikethrough]] used to be. Roses are not as good as I expected but still looks pretty good to me although I lost three roses last winter. According to Louie, he thinks mice ate up roots. Peaches doing very good this year. Tree is full of them and almost sagging with them. Too bad it won't be ready for us to eat before we go away.
It is amazing to find that everything grows so fast. We did a lot of cutting and trimming of trees around the house. Now it looks as though the place has had good care.
Poison ivy has grown thicker as usual and seems hard to get rid of it, no matter what you do to it.
