Surely 7000 able and experienced artists as a working force are not to be sneezed at.
But we must create ways and means of establishing our real value in the war effort. All the facts indicate the existing Fine Arts Agencies in the government cannot help us in this war setup. 
Instead, I believe we must appeal for support to those agencies and individuals whose activities are immediately concerned with the work of the artists, today and in the past:
the cultural foundations, the art museums, the college art departments, the art dealers, the art critics, writers of books on art, and so on.
Only through the cooperation of these people, with influence and prestige, can we present a solid cultural front.
