Dear Kuniyoshi;

First of all, let me t ell you what a real pleasure it was to see you when you were in Los Angeles. Also, to repeat what I said to you, that you did a really magnificent job in speaking to our membership. I dont know whether you have been informed of the fact that both the Los Angeles Times, and the Daily News gave their lead stories on the art page to you and Artists Equity. This of course is invaluable publicity, and our job right now is to use this material to the maximum effectiveness in building our local chapter.

We had our board meeting last night, and it was voted to proceed at the earliest possible moment with a large meeting to which we invite all potential artist members in this area to hear the full story of Equity and the member of the Dondero affair. We feel that it is of [[underlined]] absolute necessity [[/underlined]] that you come down here for this meeting. We will have a panel of speakers which will consist of you and Rico LeBrun, speaking directly for Equity, one of the well-known local art historians who is very interested in [[strikethrough]]pu[[/strikethrough]] our program, and possibly short statements from Arthur Millier and Kenneth Ross, (the critics from the Times and the News)

We are planning the meeting for Friday evening, July 29, at 8:30 P.M. We thought that even if you have a class on Friday, you could catch a late afternoon plane, and we would arrange to meet you at the airport so that you could be here in plenty of time.
