If you don't teach on Friday, or if you can leave earlier in the day, so much the better. The important thing at this moment is-- WILL YOU COME? I want to stress this again how important all of us here feel this is.

Now for the sordid financial details. As you know, we have no money for operational expenses her other than the donations we have been able to solicit from our own membership. The expenses of hiring the hall and getting our printing and mailing for this meeting will completely exhaust our funds, and we cannot turn to the same people again for additional contributions.

We do feel the expenses of your trip represent a general promotional expense which should legitimately be borne by the national treasury of Equity, and I urge you to immediately write to the treasurer and secure his approval of the expenditure. We do not wish to ask you to make the trip at your own expense, and, as I said, the expenses of handling the physical details of the meeting are all we can possibly take care of.

What I would like you to do is to let me know by return mail whether you will be down here. I know that [[strikethrough]] n [[/strikethrough]] the financial question will not have been settled by t hen, but we will just have to take our chances that things will straighten themselves out, and solve the financial details later.

We must be able to start our publicity rolling immediately and it is for this reason that I stress the urgency of an immediate reply from you. I do hope you c an do it. We feel that the opportunity of building a big chapter h ere is within our grasp.

So, let me hear from y ou, and best greetings meanwhile,
