Dear Mitch:

Feeling on the Charlot incident is still so high that Kuniyoshi and I are not issuing any statement without further action by the executive committee. I certainly would suggest that a meeting between the management of the Fine Arts Center and the local artists could do more than anything else to straighten out your situation. At least that is the way I would handle it. If this is impossible, the whole issue could be put up to the American Arbitration Association, who I understand are very successful in such cases where each side feels so strongly.

I have asked Dan Millsaps of the Equity Bureau to draw up a memorandum on tenure and will send it along shortly.

Sincerely yours,

Hudson D. Walker
Executive Director
