Dear Kuniyoshi:

I could not quite understand your letter when I read it, as I was not, as yet, acquainted with the text of the letter of Tom Rainey to which you refer. I am glad that you are taking this strong stand concerning the Colorado Springs affair, and I would not expect less from the President of Equity.

The only reference I made to yourself in my letters to Hudson referred, not to any of Tom Rainey's opinions but to a phrase in one of Hudson's letters to Tom, of which he sent me a carbon, and that was somewhat disquieting. I quote, "...we have a director on each side of the fence, so it is not as open as shut a case as you seem to feel."

I will be glad to see you in New York when I am there, and thank you for clarifying your position.

Yours sincerely,
