Josh Cahn will give us a brief summary of some of the problems he has solved for many of our members.

Josh Cahn-

I have been assigned to report to you briefly on the work of the following committees:

Realizing that a majority of Equity members have no galleries and that the possibilities are limited for exhibiting their work, Equity is concentrating on this problem. Just to outline the plans roughly, our general program involves getting museums to hold shows of "nondealer" or "nonrecognized" artists. In turn, to interest dealers and others to select work from these shows and present either group or one-man exhibitions. As you can see, it is a complicated and difficult project. George Biddle, as Chairman of this Committee, tells me that museums, galleries and other possible places throughout the country are being contacted to make the best possible arrangements. We hope to be able to announce the results early in 1949.

Our leg-weary discount committee, and all of us, are pleased to announce to our members the opportunities to purchase art supplies, books, frames, etc. at a discount. I hope you all received the booklet listing the available sources and that you have been able to take advantage of this convenience.
