A chapter of the New York Metropolitan Area is being established to deal with local matters. Other chapters, such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and throughout the country will be set up as outlined in the Chicago Plan, which was generally accepted at yesterday's meeting of Out-of-Town Directors and Directors at Large. This will be reported this afternoon. However, we would like to see each chapter develop locally, under Equity's constitution of course, and function according to the requirements of their group, instead of operating according to a theory.

Plans are under way for non-dealers members exhibition, and contracts have been made with the Whitney and Brooklyn Museums. I should like to be read an excerpt from the Director, Mr. Hermon More: (Quote)
"The Whitney Museum's traditional policy has been to give early recognition to promising talent, an dis therefore heartily in accord with the proposed program of Artists Equity, to recognize its members who are not represented by dealers. The Museum will do everything in its power to aid in this venture which is endorses in principle." (Unquote)

Mr. Nagel, Curator of the Brooklyn Museum, told us that he is going into the question of what his museum can do on the problem.

We are continuing our work on the longer range projects, such as copyright, and government in art, both federal and state. We will cooperate with other groups working for government sponsorship.

Th bureau for teachers an lecturers it is hoped will be realized in the very near future.
