Executive Director
PETER S. AOKI

Mr. Yasuo Kuniyoshi
30 E. 14tth St.
New York, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Kuniyoshi:

We received your letter and checks this afternoon and it was a breath-taking surprise for us. Especially the amount of money that you were able to raise. With the recent check that we received from Mr. Rockefeller and the efforts of your Committee at Woodstock, the Committee looks like it will be able to weather the financial headache from when it was first organized.

I am very happy to hear that the affair was such a tremendous success. I did get a few scattering commentsfrom here and there but never the entire story. I have personally seen to it that the letters of appreciation have been sent out to those you have requested me to do so. In fact I am contacting both of the boys to check whether they have written a note to Mr. and Mrs. Penning.*

I hope that I will be able to see you soon. We are planning to hold a Board of Director's meeting in October, the purpose of giving a half years report on the activities of the Committee. We also contemplate in giving several programs this fall which would tax the energies of our office staff, however, I hope to see you before then.

I wish to extend my appreciation for what you have done for the Committee.

Sincerely yours,
