FAR EAST VICTORY RALLY RECEIVES WIDE SUPPORT 
FROM PROMINENT AMERICAN LIBERALS

Wholehearted endorsement of the Rally for Victory in the Far East to be held on the eve of "Remember Pearl Harbor" Day at the City Center Casino has been received from many prominent American liberals who see the need for a global peace to follow the global war, according to Ernest Iiyama, chairman of the Japanese American Committee for democracy, the sponsoring body.

The Rally, held annually by the JACD since 1941, this year will stress the importance of the eradication of all fascists and imperialist domination from Asiatic soil. Speakers at the meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 6,, 8 p.m., at the City Center Casino, 135 West 55th St., will feature Pearl Buck, William S. Gailmor, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Shih Kwan, China Daily New editor; Michael J. Obermeier, president of the Hotel and Club Employees Union, Charles Bidien, chairman of the United Victory Committee for the Mobilization of Netherlands Overseas Territory; and Dr. Kenneth K. Kurihara, in addition to representatives of other Asiatic countries. 

Lisa Sergio, WQXR news commentator, said in endorsing the Rally that it "will help to broaden our knowledge of the democratic trends among the people of Japan and will give to the audience a better conception of how to handle the problem of bringing Japan into a concert of peace-loving nations after the war. A global war, such as this one, must lead to a global peace if we are to have any peace at all, and peace, I am convinced is predicated on the establishment of a democratic way of living throughout the world."

Dr. Howard Selsam, director of the Jefferson School of Social Science, stated that he is heartily behind the Rally's "efforts to lend impetus to the democratic stirrings in Asia and to secure the
