A durable world peace cannot be written solely through solution of Europe's problems; nor can it be written to serve one people at the expense or neglect of any other.

On the eve of "Remember Pearl Harbor" Day, Americans with a special responsibility in this war and the peace to come will gather in assemblage to rededicate themselves to their unyielding determination that democracy and freedom shall prevail throughout the world.

Each year since 1941 the Japanese American Committee for Democracy has sponsored such a meeting, welding together individual anti-fascists into one body with all men of good will — men who are in step with the march of mankind — marching forward to the beat of progress.

This year we place particular emphasis on what United Nations VICTORY IN THE FAR EAST must include to have any meaning for the peoples of Asia.

• The complete eradication of all fascist and imperialist domination from every inch of Asiatic soil.

• The liberation of the Japanese people from the yoke of military fascism so that they may have the opportunity to earn a place in the family of democratic nations.

• The extirpation of the philosophy that skin color and colonial status are one and the same thing and inviolable.

• The encouragement of every democratic trend so that the peoples' hope for the Four Freedoms does not die still born.

This year, too we pay tribute to the soldiers of Japanese ancestry serving in the Army of the United States who, in common with all soldiers of the United Nations, are fighting with bravery and gallantry so that all men may be free.
