Dear Mr. Yasui:

Under separate cover I am sending you a set of Artists Equity publications and wish to formally extend the greetings of Artists Equity Association to the Japan Artists' League. Mr. Kuniyoshi has already answered your letter of December 1, and we are very pleased to be in touch with your organization.

It is our thought to collect photographs by members of our Association to send to you for your files. We have had several requests from Japanese newspapers for photographs of American art which can be reproduced, and we would like to suggest that after you receive the photographs, you handle this direct with any of the newspapers that are interested. We will see that reproduction rights are assigned to you in each case, and if the newspapers are willing to pay a fee for the reproduction rights, our suggestion is that the fees be paid to your organization to further its program.

In cooperation with UNESCO and other American organizations, we are in the process of planning an international artists' congress to meet in New York simultaneously with the opening of the new United Nations Headquarters in 1952. As plans develop, we will be very pleased to keep you informed.

Again I wish to thank you very much for your friendly and informative letter, and we look forward to cooperating with you closely in the future.

Sincerely yours,

Hudson D. Walker
