The co-operation extended to us by the Mainichi is very valuable and we are very grateful for it. I met Mr. Funato and others of the Mainichi's home office who promised their enthusiastic support.

As soon as we receive Mr. Washburn's letter we will at once start to make concrete preparations in accordance with his suggestions and instructions.

In regard to obtaining permission from the military government, we have very good connections with GHQ, SCAP, and we feel we will have no trouble in obtaining whatever permits are necessary.

We are sending you under separate cover a few panphlets describing the constitution, the general set-up the purposes and activities of the Japanese Artists Association. We hope you will receive it shortly.

Let me thank you again for all your kindness, co-operation and support, and I am eagerly looking forward to your next letter.

Yours most sincerely,
U. Ihara
Usaburo Ihara
