Mr. Ihara -2- April 2, 1952

I believe that the entry forms, together with the copy of our letter given to you by the office of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, will give you the necessary information about the exhibition. If you have any further questions, please let me know right away.

Mr. Kuniyoshi, in his letter to you of February 9, of which we have a copy mentioned that insurance valuations be inserted in the forms which amount to two-thirds the actual values of the pictures. This will be satisfactory. As you may know, the pictures will be covered by our insurance from the time they leave the artists' hands until they are returned.

Thank you for sending the many photographs to us, through Mr. Kiniyoshi. May we keep those of the pictures chosen? Shall we return the other photographs to you, and if so, may we have the amount for which they should be insured?

We are grateful to the Mainichi Press for the offer to assemble, crate and ship the paintings. According to a letter received form Mr. Kuniyoshi some time ago, Mr. Kokichi Funato is the Mainichi representative to take charge of this. Is this still true? We will be sending shipping instructions soon, and we wonder whether they should go to you or to the Mainichi Press.

Have you any information about the boat schedules from Tokyo to San Francisco? The painting should be put on a boat which will arrive in no later than August 1, and preferably earlier. We are now negotiating with a reliable concern which will meet the boat and take care of the customs procedure in California. We need to have all the pictures here by September 1.

We all appreciate not only your helpfulness, but your enthusiasm. We look forward to having your country represented in the 1952 Pittsburgh Internatinal.

Faithfully yours,

Sig.
